Sinochem Fertilizer Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Canpotex’s Entry into China
On July 13, Sinochem Fertilizer and Canpotex, a Canadian potash fertilizer producer, held a ceremony entitled “A Shared New Journey after 50 Years of Effort” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Canpotex’s entry into China.
China is the largest consumer of potash fertilizer in the world, but has a limited domestic production capacity, so it has long relied on imports. To meet the domestic demand for potash fertilizer, the China National Chemical Import & Export Corporation, one of Sinochem Holdings’ predecessors, started China’s potash fertilizer import business by introducing the first shipment of potash from Canpotex in 1972. Over the past five decades, Sinochem Holdings has been committed to the import of high-quality potash fertilizer, ensuring a ready domestic supply. During this period, Sinochem Fertilizer has kept refining its services in line with Canpotex product traits while continuously improving its service quality. As a result, these products have played an important role in ensuring food security in China.
In the future, both companies will continue to strengthen their cooperation and consolidate their strategic partnership, contributing to a stable supply of potash fertilizer and maintaining food security in China.
